A survey of 1,200 beef and dairy producers nationwide conducted in late December 2009 and early January 2010 by Aspen Media & Market Research found that producer approval of the beef checkoff increased from 68% in 2009 to 69% in 2010. That's despite seven in 10 producers saying the current economic recession had impacted their operations negatively.
