Michigan Plans ID Workshop Series For Producers
The Michigan Department of Ag will conduct workshops across the state in August to detail producer compliance requirements for that state's mandatory use of radio frequency identification (RFID) ear tags in all cattle. The program becomes mandatory March 1, 2007, and applies to all cattle transported from one premises to another in the state.
The free workshops will provide a comprehensive overview of the program, followed by Q&A. Workshops are scheduled for Aug. 1 in Jackson; Aug. 4 in Hillsdale; Aug. 8 in McBain; Aug. 9 in West Branch; Aug. 14 in St. Johns; Aug. 15 in Bad Axe; Aug. 17 in Coopersville; Aug. 17 in Paw Paw; Aug. 21 in Frankenmuth; and Aug. 23 in Fremont.
