Do you have a good story to share about how grazing has helped your farm, family, or community? A new book, titled Grassland: Quietness and Strength for a New American Agriculture, about grass-based agriculture is being compiled in commemoration of the classic GRASS 1948: Yearbook of Agriculture. The authors, based at Iowa State University and the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture, are looking for input from farmers in the Northeast. Many well-known individuals are involved in writing, compiling, and editing, including a preface by Wendell Berry. For more information on the book and how to submit your story, contact Karen Hoffman at karen.hoffman2@ny.usda.gov or 607-334-4632 ext 116.
